Leo Ricci ("we," "our," or "us") operates Shotgun AI ("the App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data.
Information We Collect
Location Data
Shotgun AI requires access to your device's location to provide turn-by-turn navigation and nearby place search. Location data is used in real time to power navigation and is sent to our server to process voice commands that reference your current position (e.g., "find gas stations near me"). Your location may also be shared with Google's AI services (see "Third-Party AI Services" below) to provide contextual responses to your voice commands.
We do not store your location history on our servers after your navigation session ends.
Voice Data
When you use voice commands, your audio is sent to Google's Speech-to-Text service for transcription. The transcribed text, along with relevant context such as your current location, is then sent to Google's Gemini AI service to process your request and generate a response. The response text is sent to Google's Text-to-Speech service to produce spoken audio. See "Third-Party AI Services" below for details.
Voice audio and transcribed text are processed in real time and are not stored on our servers after the interaction is complete.
Account Information
You may sign in using Sign in with Apple. When you do, we receive your Apple-provided user identifier and, if you choose to share it, your name and email address. This information is used for account authentication and subscription management. We do not receive your Apple ID password.
Crash Reports & Analytics
We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymous crash reports and Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage statistics. This data helps us identify and fix bugs, improve performance, and understand how the App is used. This data does not personally identify you.
Bug Reports
When you submit a bug report using the in-app shake gesture, the report may include a screenshot, device information, app state, and recent console logs. Bug reports are stored securely and used solely for debugging purposes.
Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect your phone number through the App.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising purposes.
- We do not use your data for ad targeting.
- We do not use your voice data or AI interactions to train machine learning models.
Third-Party AI Services
Shotgun AI uses Google's AI and speech services to power its voice copilot features. When you use voice commands, the following data is shared with Google:

These services are provided by Google LLC and are subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. Data sent to these services is processed in real time and is not retained by Shotgun AI after the interaction is complete. Google's own data retention policies apply to data processed by their services.
The App will ask for your explicit consent before sending any data to these AI services. You may decline, in which case voice features will be unavailable, but navigation and map features will continue to work.
Other Third-Party Services
In addition to the AI services described above, Shotgun AI uses the following third-party services:
- Google Maps & Google Navigation SDK — for map display and turn-by-turn navigation. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- Firebase (Google) — for authentication, crash reporting (Crashlytics), and anonymous analytics. Subject to Firebase's Privacy Policy.
- RevenueCat — for subscription management. Subject to RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
Data Retention
Location and voice data are processed in real time and not retained after your session. Crash reports and analytics data are retained for up to 90 days. Bug reports are retained until the reported issue is resolved.
Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data during transmission and storage, including TLS encryption for all network communication.
Children's Privacy
Shotgun AI is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
